Aguas de Mondariz is the leading company in the fields of packaging and marketing of natural mineral water in the north west of Spain. Its area of business comprises both the food and catering sectors, covering 29 countries on five continents. 

It is a brand with 138 years of history, whose beginnings are linked to the spa industry and the exploitation of the Mondariz minero-medicinal waters, which obtained the Category of Water for Public Use in 1873 and began to be commercialised in 1877. Aguas de Mondariz bottles over 100 million litres of water every year, packaged in over 150 million containers. 

Unlike other brands, Aguas de Mondariz is a “single-source” brand with all of its bottled water coming from its one plant in the Concello de Mondariz (Pontevedra). The consumer can thus be assured of the uniformity of its mineral composition and the product’s properties: the same taste and the same health benefits, always. The spring is located in part of the Natura 2000 network and has an area of perimeter protection of 43 million square metres.

Rich in minerals such as iron, sulphur and calcium among others, it is a soft water with a balanced composition due to its slow filtration (between 60 and 150 years) through the granite subsoil from where it originates and which also gives it its unique taste and texture. 

It is a slightly mineralised water, characterised by its beneficial health qualities, its continuously balanced composition from the very start and its uniquely elegant taste, which has been internationally acclaimed by bodies such as the International Taste Quality Institute (awarding Aguas de Mondariz its highest prize, the “Crystal Taste Award”, for quality and excellence) as well as other certifications (ISO9000, 14001, 22001, Eco-Management and Audit Community Scheme EMAS III and Galicia Calidade).

Aguas de Mondariz commercialises two different food products under two different brand names: Mondariz and Fuente del Val. Both are from the area and both have a long history. 
The Aguas de Mondariz plant uses two different types of packaging: PET, mainly for the food industry, and glass, for the catering industry.

Mondariz Glass: Aguas de Mondariz has launched a range of glass bottles with a 19th century modernist feel, reminiscent of Mondariz’s moment of greatest splendour, offering many distinct advantages with respect to both logistics and distribution. 

Mondariz PET: Aguas de Mondariz uses PET for its reduced weight and its capacity for total recycling, making it one of the most appropriate materials for environmental conservation.
