In 1961 Eulogio Gómez-Franqueira founded the Cooperativa Agroalimentaria that has now become the leading food and agriculture company in Spain.

Over the last 45 years its business scope has diversified into poultry farming, pork and bovine markets where it is a market leader. It is a pioneer in traceability and in food safety and has an ample range of products, adapted to consumer requirements, and the necessities of a market that demands healthy and balanced food that is easy to prepare, without foregoing flavour.

Based in Galicia, its industrial complex has four fodder plants, five incubation plants, two packing and egg sorting plants, a poultry processing centre, a bovine processing centre, a pork processing centre, more than 400 farms, a preserved meat plant, ham curing plants, sales offices and 50 Coren Grill shops.

Its social dimension is a fundamental pillar; more than 6,000 families are specialized in ensuring food safety for other families.

It is concerned about the environment and research,and its R&D/Innovation centre works to meet new requirements. It is the first company in Spain to have obtained the Freedom Food Certificate.

In 1990 it embarked upon international expansion in Portugal. In 1995 it set up operations in Argentina and then in Romania. It also boasts intense international sales activity in Europe,America and Japan, promoting traditional Spanish gastronomy products such as Serrano ham and preserved meat.
