Bodegas Osborne was founded around the end of the 18th century in Puerto de Santa María (Province of Cádiz) with the aim of exporting its finest Sherry wines to England. This was the beginning of its international vocation.
Today, over 200 years later,as the 21st century begins, Osborne continues as a sixth-generation family business that maintains the same enterprising spirit of its roots, but expanding far beyond the land of its birth.
The Osborne Wines division has gathered the most representative and traditional, Designation of Origin products from all over the Iberian Peninsula, with its wines from Jerez, Oporto, Rioja, Rueda and Ribera del Duero, combining this with ground-breaking vision to encompass new trends in the world wine market. An example of this are the wines currently being produced in the historic location of Malpica de Tajo in Toledo.
At a time when the culture that surrounds wine is enjoying a splendid renaissance and is becoming increasingly international in nature, Osborne is assimilating and taking on a new concept in wine production. This combines tradition and modern methods in a wine-making philosophy that looks back to its land and the special features of its soil to offer with each of its wines all the quality and special characteristics of the different Spanish regions.
Osborne wines are marketed in over 30 countries under the aegis of the “enormous black bull”, the imposing figure that has served as the emblem for the group's brands since 1956. It reflects such intangible values as a love of what is "our very own" and a pride in the identity and life style that is unique to the Spain of today.
